Volunteer Opportunities
Are you interested in volunteering with Canopy?
Every year we rely on volunteers to help us carry out our mission to help people and nature thrive together in our city. Whether you are interested tabling at events, planting trees, reaching out to community members, or assisting with special projects, there’s a way you can help.

Canopy welcomes volunteers of all ages. Volunteers under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult, and in the event a project location is near heavy traffic areas a note in the project description suggesting volunteers age 16 and up will be included.

Roll up your sleeves, sign up for a project or event below, and head out to join us!
Why you should volunteer with Canopy:
Join a like-minded community.
Meet new people of all ages and backgrounds who share a common vision for a more resilient and green Bloomington.

Gain expertise.
All volunteers receive instructions from our trained staff at plantings. As a result, our volunteers come away with useful information and hands-on experience that they can take back to their own homes and neighborhood projects.

Make a visible impact.
Volunteers work all over Bloomington, planting and maintaining trees. Canopy brings the tools, so all you need to bring is your desire for community improvement!
