Interested in learning more about the trees in your neighborhood and how you can help care for them? Invite CanopyBloomington to do a tree walk! Learn about the diversity in your neighborhood trees, how to identify tree health issues, and ways you can cooperatively steward your community trees as neighbors. Neighborhood associations, HOA’s, and other community entities/residents themselves will be responsible for advertising the event to their respective communities (with materials provided by us). Tree walks require a prior site visit by our Forestry Director to plan the routes and tree talking-points. We suggest a sliding-scale payment of $150-200. Please reach out to us if you'd like to have a tree walk but the suggested donation is a hurdle.

Want to learn more about tree care topics such as how to mulch properly, how to prune your trees, and other important information to help you become a better tree steward? Submit your interest in a tree workshop using the form below. Once CanopyBloomington receives feedback on priority topics indicated by submissions, we will schedule our first workshop. Workshop topics and format will be dependent on time of year.

Sliding scale payment will depend on the format of the workshop (hands-on versus virtual), but can be expected to be $15-$25 a session.

We want to plant trees in your neighborhood! If your neighborhood is interested in hosting CanopyBloomington for a tree planting event, please fill out the form below. If you'd like CanopyBloomington to give a presentation at your Neighborhood Association meeting prior to filling out the form, contact us hannah@canopybloomington.org. Free planting projects will be prioritized in our target block groups and/or within high and very high priority sites as designated on our website. If your neighborhood falls outside of our priority areas but you wish to have trees planted, please refer to our sliding scale payment levels. Submit your interest in a planting using the form below. Are you a non-profit, place of worship, school, or other business in Bloomington interested contributing to growing our city's canopy cover? CanopyBloomington would love to partner with you to plant trees on your property(ies)! Free planting projects will be prioritized in our target block groups and/or within high and very high priority sites as designated on our website.
